It took me a few years, but I finally got used to using the 7" screen on my netbook as a platform to do all my data-work with. And now said netbook is getting cranky and refusing to recognize a network, even when I have a 4' brand-new cat5 cable connecting it directly to the router.
My idea was to learn how to use a smartphone to cover all those needs, and I'm aware it has the technical capacity to do so. I only need two accessories for it: A folding keyboard and an external monitor. But I should be *able* to use it even without those, using the tiny internal thumb-board and the 'zoom' feature on its 2" screen.
I still prefer using a machine with a full-sized monitor if I get the chance, but I *can* work OK with the 7" screen of the netbook. The 2" screen of the phone, not so much.
So, phone users, how do you manage with the tiny porthole?
